Why?

The reason I'm starting this blog is to mainly catalogue all the guitars and related ephemera, that I have admired on local (Toronto) used websites, Craigslist, Kijiji and such. The aim isn't to feature all the expensive vintage brands but the lesser known, but still pretty cool, weirdo pre-1980's items made in countries like Germany, Japan, Italy, and Sweden. I'd like to show what kinda of awesome stuff you can get from $50 - $1000 bucks. But mostly more on the lower end of that scale. *none of these photos are mine unless indicated.

1960's Gretsch Electromatic Lapsteel

Vintage Gretsch Lapsteel

$300 (marked down from $400 a few weeks ago)

A nice little sixties lapsteel.  I'm amazed this wasn't snapped up already.  I guess the alt-country craze is slowing down.  This would be in my hands by now if  a) I had the money and b) I didn't just buy a Japanese Guyatone steel for $100 just last month (I'll be posting that here soon enough.)

Beautiful Pearloid body -- I believe these were made for Gretsch by Supro.  This guy is in great, nay stellar shape and comes with an (original?) case.  A great deal considering a new Chinese-made Electromatic Steel will make you $350 + tax lighter, how can you go wrong?
